GSFC receives “SKOCH Order of Merit” Award
Instituted in 2003, SKOCH Award salutes people, projects and institutions that go the extra mile to make India a better nation. SKOCH Award winners receive this Award for their extraordinary achievements in contributing to the society.
SKOCH Group is India’s leading think tank dealing with socio-economic issues with a focus on inclusive growth since 1997. The group companies include a consulting wing, a media wing and a charitable foundation. In the current times, SKOCH Group has taken up the gigantic task to document the stories of individuals, Organizations and governance structures as a response to COVID at every level. They have organized Skoch Summit where 550 experts and delegates from amongst bureaucracy, public sector, health services, banking and local governance have shared the challenges faced during COVID, response and initiatives taken up to fight COVID. Such efforts have been recognized the best practices as a part of SKOCH Award.
SKOCH Applicants were put through comprehensive evaluation process running into 4 rounds. First round consisted of submission of exhaustive documentation to support our efforts and achievements in fight against COVID. Second Round was Online Presentation for Jury and Peer Evaluation. 3rd round consisted of including one’s department and Organization as a part of evaluation exercise. It consisted of popular vote to create a buzz around one’s good work, informing colleague and peers of what has been done and to make them feel proud of their achievements as well as to benchmark one’s popularity against peers from other organizations. 4th round was an exhibition round to garner votes from experts in a live poll.
GSFC competed for the said Award by presenting its project “Managing Emotions, Enhancing Motivation in times of Covid-19 - The GSFC Way”, where GSFC shared its Challenges during Emergency Lockdown, when Company was shut, and when it reopened. The proactive and responsive Strategies taken up for its employees, dependents, community and Country to fight COVID in an essential service set up. Based on its work, GSFC qualified for Beacon of Hope merit list which has culminated into receiving SKOCH Order of Merit on 28th November 2020.
Few major Organizations that participated were IOCL, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Pune City Police, Andhra Pradesh Police Department, CID, Haryana Police, Rajkot City Police, Ministry of Railways, Tripura State Electricity Corporation Limited, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd, Directorate of Health & Family Welfare Karnataka, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation etc.
